Last year, EVERYBODY saw previews of the Insane Inflatable 5K and said, "That looks fun! Let's do it!" They tagged their friends and talked about forming teams and all of that. Many eventually came to the realization that they'd never run a 5K and might not make it to the end of this one with the inflatables and all, regardless of how fun it looked. There's a solution for those who are a bit intimidated: Train for it, but still go at your own pace.

Here's the beauty of the II5K: Not everyone runs at the same time. A different group starts every 15 minutes. So, let's say you're afraid of finishing dead last. Here's what you do. Sign up for a wave that begins no later than 9:30 (WTUG's wave is at 9:30, by the way. So, if you want to run/walk with us, sign up for this one).

The last wave is going to begin at 11:00. This means if you start an early race, you'll have AT LEAST an hour and a half to go 5K before the last group even begins. Based on these calculations, you're going to finish with SOMEBODY! It might not be the same group you started with, but you won't be dead last. That doesn't really matter anyway. The fact that you set a goal and accomplished it should be rewarding.

Now, who's ready to run? Register here, and meet us at the Tuscaloosa Regional Airport on April 2.
