Word is, Dr. Dre's mythical album Detox could be on the way soon. For real this time. Unlike those other times, when it was also for real but then wasn't.

So how did this decades-long rumor about Dre's Detox album come around again? Blame it on Steph Curry. Well, sort of.

Specifically, ESPN reporter Chris Haynes was at a Golden State Warriors practice and got word that Dr. Dre was in the building. He ended up having a conversation with the legendary producer and asked if Detox will ever see the light of day. Dre's answer?

"I'm working on a couple songs right now. We'll see."

That answer was inspiring enough for Haynes to tweet it and get the rumor mill whirling about the possibility of Detox actually seeing the light of day this go around.

Dre's last project was 2015's soundtrack to the NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton, simply titled Compton. The project was polished and clean but relatively lackluster, despite boasting features from Kendrick Lamar and Anderson .Paak.

Dre admitted back in 2015 that he'd scrapped Detox completely because he wasn't feeling the music he was recording. And we all saw what a perfectionist he is in the recent documentary, The Defiant Ones. In that same film he also seemed to shut the door on the concept of Detox altogether.

So, it looks like we'll have to wait and see if this casual conversation at a Warrior's practice actually holds any weight.
