It has been rumored for a number of years that the Pickens County Jail in Carrollton, AL has been run not only inhumanely but also illegally.  In recent days, the Bossip website has published an exclusive account from some who've had experience with the operations of the Pickens County Jail.

Some say they were arrested without reason or warrant. Others say the charges brought against them have no validity.  There has even been a comparison between current revenue and revenue generated in recent years as a result of illegal arrests. As with many Alabama prisons, the Pickens County Jail is said to be severely overcrowded. Yet, the rate of incarceration continues to climb excessively.

I've heard stories of inmates being given expired meat to cook for the other inmates as well as corrections workers having inmates completing personal tasks for them. I'm not sure how true any of this is, but I've always been told two things: 1) Where there's smoke, there's fire, and 2) Everybody ain't telling the same lie!

What do you think is really going on? Are Blacks being "hunted" to save officials' income in a poverty-stricken county?
