With the worldwide usage of Facebook and everyone using it there's no reason why people try to exploit it. Almost everyone you know has a Facebook page,friends, family, businesses and with all that information put out there by all the Facebook users it has become an area of concern security wise.

Most have their name, age, and quite a bit of personal information right there for all to see.

Pictures of friends and family, like and dislikes, favorite movies, songs, even places we like to go all there at the click of a mouse.

Now there are concerns that your Facebook identity can be stolen and your identity compromised and all done with just a simple phone number. Here is what the Facebook representative had to say:

Facebook offers user guide on what information is shared and how to control that setting. Facebook, a network of more than 1.49 billion monthly active users, has been introducing more tools recently to assist users with their privacy settings. Last month, Facebook released a new page called "Security Checkup" that offers new login alerts and password protection tips.

 

There is a way you can hide your number associated to your account go to Facebook.com/settings?tab=mobile. Click "Remove" next to your phone number. If you'd like to keep your phone number associated, under the Privacy tab, change "Who can look you up using the phone number you provided?" to "Friends." Full Story
