This morning, during the Tom Joyner Morning Show, actor Michael Ealy was asked about his relationship status, and he stated that he's married. I vaguely remembered reading about his marriage. So, I did a search and came up with a link to an interview in which he said that his wife (Khatira Rafiqzada, who is absolutely gorgeous) isn't necessarily "his type."

In talking with numerous married people, I've discovered that while they're undoubtedly attracted to their mates, most of them say that the person to whom they've chosen to commit themselves for life didn't fit the description of what they'd call "their type."

How common is this? Is your husband/wife/fiance'/fiancee' your type? If not, what led you to choose this person as a life-long partner? Was it the fact that they're different?
