'Tis the season for company holiday parties. It's a comfortable night out with people who you spend the most time with. However, we always hear a horror story or two about people getting too comfortable at the work holiday party, and eventually getting fired.

Yes, you can let your hair down, and even dance if you please. But don't forget the people in power may be watching.

So, here are some tips to get you through your company holiday party.

1. Dress appropriately. If your work has a theme for the holiday party, then make sure you're dressed the part. If not, you don't have to be in your business clothes, but don't dress like you're headed to the club.

2. Easy on the drinks. An open bar is a work holiday party essential. It makes everything less awkward. But, know your limit. You don't want to be the laughing stock next Monday, or the guy who gets fired.

3. Be timely. Don't come at the tail end of the party, act like you actually want to be there. It's always a good time with free food and drinks..lol.

4. No uninvited guest. Unless the invitation specifically states you can bring a guest.

5. Have fun. Don't be so uptight. Talk to your co-workers you don't always see, you never know what you could have in common.
