It’s Too Early to Be This Hot

Today is the first of June.  Yesterday,  we saw temps in the high 90's.  Is that normal? 

As long as I can remember,  Alabama summers have always been hot,  made worse by humidity.  But it seems like the "take your breath away" heat set in a little earlier than usual this year.

Am I alone in this or just mistaken?  Is it usually this hot weeks before summer actually begins?
