J. Cole Nabs Fourth No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart With ‘4 Your Eyez Only’

J. Cole is going to close out of 2016 on top of the rap game. His polarizing opus, 4 Your Eyez Only, is the No. 1 album in the country.

The collection moved 492,000 equivalent album copies in its first week of release, according to Nielsen Music (via Billboard). Of those units sold, 363,000 copies were from traditional album sales.

Overall, this is the North Carolina rapper’s fourth chart-topper of his career and the third-largest sales debut of 2016 following Beyonce’s Lemonade (653,000 copies) and Drake’s Views (1.4 million copies).

4 Your Eyez Only is also breaking record on the streaming side as well. Last week, the album was streamed 118,000 in SEA units (equaling 51.7 million streams of the album’s songs), which is the second-largest streaming debut ever for an album. It trails behind Drake’s Views, which moved 163,000 streaming units in its first week, which equates to 245.1 million streams of songs from the album.

J. Cole's previous No. 1 albums are 2014 Forest Hills Drive, which dropped in 2014, Born Sinner in 2013 and Cole World: The Sideline Story in 2011.

Elsewhere on the chart, The Weeknd’s Starboy drops from to No. 2 to No. 3 with 109,000 units sold, while Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic moves up from No. 6 to No. 4 with 74,000 copies.
