James Spann, Author Kim Cross to Speak at Special Event in Tuscaloosa Thursday, April 30

The Alberta School of Performing Arts will host "Beautiful Things Come from Our Brokenness" Thursday, April 30, at 6 p.m. The evening will feature the healing stories of Tuscaloosa's recovery following the tornado of April 27, 2011.

Author Kim Cross will share stories from her book, What Stands in a Storm. Tuscaloosa characters from the book will share their uplifting stories and their experiences following the April 27th tornado.

I hope to see many of my friends in Tuscaloosa at the Alberta School of Performing Arts Thursday evening for this special event with author Kim Cross. This will be a night of healing stories. It will be uplifting, not a downer. Instead of a day of mourning, this is an acknowledgement of how far we have come, and the good things that have happened as a result of the bad.

Speakers include storm chaser John Oldhue, rescuer Adam Watley, DCH Disaster Coordinator Andrew Lee, student Kelli Arthur, and survivor Chelsea Thrash.
