Janet Jackson Announces Return to Stage [VIDEO]
For all you Janet Jackson fans, you can stop holding your breath because Ms. Janet is soon returning to the stage.
In a candid video via Twitter, music icon announced her return to tour but with a minor change: the name.
The tour, now known as the State of the World Tour, is a 56-city run beginning Sept. 7 in Lafayette, Louisiana and ending in Atlanta, Georgia on Dec. 17.
The series of concerts is a continuation of the Unbreakable tour, which the pop star put on hold after telling fans that she was taking time off to focus on starting a family, confirming months later that she had given birth to her first child.
“I’m continuing my tour as promised, I’m so excited you guys, so excited,” she said.
Also in the video, Jackson made a brief statement concerning the recent split from billionaire Wissam Al Mana, father of her four-month-old son, Eissa: “Yes, I separated from my husband, we are in court and the rest is in God’s hands.”
According to a close source who told PEOPLE exclusively, the singer wanted to go back on tour, saying, “Janet is the most independent out of all of the Jacksons. She wants to get back on stage, and within the next few years, there’s a possibility she could tour.”
She was recently spotted, along with brother Randy at a Bruno Mars concert on Monday in Birmingham, England.
