You may not have seen Jay Z marching with the Eric Garner protesters, but that doesn't mean he isn't doing his part to help make a change. On Wednesday (Dec. 10), Hov met with New York's Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to discuss changing the criminal justice system, among other issues.

Specifically, Jay and Cuomo discussed hiring special prosecutors to handle cases where officers are accused of police brutality, and according to the rapper, the governor fully agreed.

According to Billboard, Cuomo will try to get these changes passed next year, along with trying to carry out other modifications to the current system.

But Jay Z wasn't the only rap mogul to speak to the governor.

According to the New York Times, Russell Simmons also paid Cuomo a visit to discuss the same issues and he said the meeting was a successful one. But that will obviously be proven if there are substantial changes to the criminal justice system in 2015.

This is not the first time that Mr. Carter and Uncle Russ involved themselves with social issues. Jay Z and his wife, Beyonce, paid tuition for Sean Bell's children, the Brooklyn man who was gunned down by police officers in 2006. The rap mogul also gave money to help out the Mike Brown protest movement in Ferguson, Mo.

By the looks of it, it seems that Jay Z isn't just an amazing lyricist, he's a pretty good guy for using his dollars to initiate change.
