The backlash against President Donald Trump’s alleged racist comments has reached high levels of pissed off-ness on Twitter.

According to NBC News, on Thursday (Jan. 11), during a bipartisan meeting, President Trump referred to Haiti and some African nations as “shithole countries.” Reactions to his alleged remarks have been swift on the international scale, with world leaders as well as politicians— both Democrat and Republican— roundly denouncing the comments.

CNN political analyst Don Lemon went on his show last night to call President Trump a racist. Lemon said that he and other journalists have been sounding the alarm about Trump's racist viewpoints for years. Trump's comment sparked the hashtag movement, #Trumpisaracist on Twitter.

Meanwhile, John Legend, Chuck D and other celebrities have lashed out at President Trump on their timelines.

"The president is a racist. He has been for his entire public life," tweeted the Grammy-winning piano man. "If you vote(d) for him, you do so because of that or despite that. We need a multi-racial anti-racist coalition to defeat him and try to heal our nation."
