Jordin Sparks Gives Birth to Baby Boy: ‘We Couldn’t Be More in Love!’ [PHOTO]

Congrats are in order for Jordin Sparks and Dana Isaiah. The couple welcomed their first baby together earlier this week.

According to People, Sparks gave birth to a baby boy on May 2 at the Natural Birth Center & Women’s Center in Los Angeles. The baby’s name is Dana Isaiah Thomas Jr. or “DJ” for short. The newborn weighed in at 8 lbs., 4.5 oz., and measured 21.5 inches.

On Saturday (May 5), Sparks posted the first photo of DJ on her Instagram page. In the adorable pic, the baby, covered in a camouflage-inspired blanket, is quietly sleeping with a beanie on his head with "DJ" written across it. "He's here & we couldn't be more in love!!! Go DJ!" reads the caption.

In an interview with People, Sparks said the birth was joyous and perfect. “It was miraculously beautiful,” she said. “Dana caught him with my midwife, Simona, and when he handed him to me, I was absolutely overwhelmed with joy. He was and is everything we imagined.”

Although it's only been a few days but Sparks says she's already enjoying her journey into motherhood.

“I’ve always loved kids and knew that if given the blessing, that I would love and embrace it more than I realized," she said. "It’s only been a few days and I love it so much already! The joy, laughter, scrapes and bruise...I can’t wait for it all!”

Sparks and Isaiah were dating for a year before secretly getting married in July 2017. Last fall, the "No Air" singer exclusively announce her surprise marriage and pregnancy.
