When Kanye West headed to the stage on Sunday night (Aug. 30) to collect his 2015 MTV Video Vanguard Award, nobody knew what he was going to do or say -- including MTV.

The rapper ended up giving a 13-minute speech in which he voiced his concerns for a few things from his disdain for awards shows in general to his disappointment that the 2007 Grammy Awards didn't give Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds (or CeeLo Green's St. Elsewhere) the win for Album of the Year -- the honor went to Dixie Chicks' Taking the Long Way.

"The contradiction is that I do fight for artists but in that fight, somehow, was disrespectful to artists," said Kanye in an all-beige garb in the middle of the MTV Video Music Awards stage. "I didn't know how to say the right thing, the perfect thing, I sat at the Grammys and saw Justin Timberlake and CeeLo Green lose. Gnarls Barkley and the [FutureSex/LoveSounds] album, and bro, Justin I'm not trying to put you on blast but I saw that man in tears, bro. And I was thinking he deserved to win Album of the Year."

After his name was dropped in Yeezy's acceptance speech, the crooner is taking it lightly and able to laugh at himself and Kanye.

"Kanye is so cute, y'all," tweeted the former 'N Sync member after Kanye West announced his presidency for 2020. Although some thought he was taking shots at West, Timberlake followed up with, "Jokes you guys... Jokes." He also made sure to include the word "chill" as a hashtag.

But it seems JT didn't see the speech in its entirety before his initial tweet because he later shared his approval and support toward Yeezy.

"Btw... I JUST watched my man 'Ye's FULL speech... He always has a point. And I support it. #truth," Timberlake wrote.
