Kandi Burruss is teaming up with Macy’s to kick off the school year with a 90s-themed shopping party this Saturday (Aug 2) in Atlanta.

The Kandi Cares Foundation will also host a meet and greet with the singer/reality star, paired with performances by her emerging urban pop and R&B groups, LOUD and Glamour. The Macy’s collabo will be a nostalgic event, set to bring back 90’s fashion, as well as offer free 90’s-inspired beauty makeovers, styling tips and showcase the coming school year’s fashion must-haves.

Guests are also encouraged to visit the store’s handbag department and donate any gently used handbag to the Kandi Cares Foundation.

Burruss, former member of influential 90s R&B group, Xscape and is an accomplished songwriter, having penned hits for Mariah Carey, Destiny’s Child, TLC, and Pink, among others and was the first African-American woman given the Songwriter of the Year award by ASCAP back in 2000. She's also known for starring in the Real Housewives of Atlanta, as well as forays into talent management, theatrical plays and a successful adult toy line. She and her husband, Todd Tucker, welcomed the arrival of a beautiful baby boy, Ace Wells Tucker, this January.

“We named our beautiful baby boy Ace because I wanted something unique,” she told E! News. “When he becomes school age, hopefully he won’t have to worry about another person in the class having his name.”

The back to school bash will be held Saturday, August 6 from 2 p.m. -4 p.m. at Macy’s in Lenox Square Mall.
