Authorities say a man who was kidnapped at gunpoint in Tuscaloosa was later found at a Birmingham hospital.

Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit Lt. Kip Hart told local media that police responding to reports of shots fired at Brookstone Apartments Monday were told the suspects had taken a 21-year-old man at gunpoint and fled the scene.

According to AL.com, police were contacted Tuesday morning and were told that the victim may have been at UAB Hospital. Hart says the man had been taken from Tuscaloosa to Birmingham and was found on a road. Hart says the man had been shot, but is expected to survive. Details on the suspects and their motive were not immediately available. Hart says the man was not a random target.
