Lauryn Hill is facing eviction after defaulting on her rent last month. Although Hill had been a tenant of the Newark, New Jersey residence since 2009, her landlord filed an eviction lawsuit against the artist for missing March's rental payment.

The Refugees co-founder is already in deep water for not filing taxes for three years -- an offense which could land the singer in a the slammer.

First issue here: Lauryn Hill, why do you rent? Couldn't buy a house with those millions, huh?

And tax evasion? Really? OK, let's try to reserve our judgments.

Reports emerged earlier this week that cited "threats on her and her family" as the reason why she ran away from mainstream society and, apparently, her taxes.

In any case, she is due in court on April 22 for sentencing.
