Leela James may be from Los Angeles, but the R&B diva wanted to celebrate the release of her latest effort, 'Fall For You,' in the the Big Apple, where she not only started a dance party but also brought everyone to church.

"That album came out today everywhere," Leela told the crowd at BB King Blues Club & Grill in New York City Tuesday night (July 8). "And it went straight to No. 2 on iTunes, and that's something new to happen to a girl like me. Dreams do come true."

Dressed in a blue dress, black booties and gold jewelry all over her hands, the soul songstress brought out her inner James Brown during the performance. She danced with fans onstage, jumped offstage to serenade a few special audience members and even did push-ups (still in her heels) with one leg in the air in the middle of her set.

The 31-year-old singer kicked off the show with upbeat classics like 'Good Time' and 'Something's Got A Hold on Me,' making sure that no one was sitting still. "I don't wanna see you sitting for too long because this is a party," Leela announced.

From her two-steppin' bounce tracks to the more emotional ballads like 'Simply Beautiful' and her latest single, 'Fall For You,' she showcased her versatility effortlessly.
