Leon Bridges to Play Birmingham’s Alabama Theatre Wednesday, October 5, 2016

One of my favorite new artists is coming to Birmingham this fall, and I literally squealed when I heard the news! Leon Bridges will be playing the Alabama Theatre in Birmingham on Wednesday, October 5, 2016. The show is set to begin at 7 p.m. with Lianne La Havas to open. Tickets go on sale this Friday (June 10) at 10 a.m. You can purchase tickets directly from the Alabama Theatre Box Office or through all Ticketmaster locations. (Here's a link to the Ticketmaster info.)

You're probably like, "Meg, who even IS Leon Bridges?" Let me tell y'all, he is AMAZING. Leon Bridges is a 26-year-old gospel and soul singer from Fort Worth, Texas. His debut studio album, Coming Home, was released last summer, and it's fantastic. It has an unmistakably retro vibe, and Leon has a beautiful voice.

I discovered Leon Bridges when he played The Tonight Show last June, and since then I've listened to Coming Home at least 25 times. He's become a super popular new artist--he played SNL last year, the Hangout this summer, and he's scheduled to perform at Bonnaroo this year. His current tour dates have him playing shows all across the world, and his concert in Birmingham is the final tour stop. How cool is that?
