Now, this is how you salute your country.

A 34-year-old woman from Tallahassee, Fla. named G. Star Swain has gone viral after she memorably belted out "The Star-Spangled Banner" while visiting the Lincoln Memorial. Francis Scott Key himself would've been just as wowed as everyone else on hand was.

Swain's performance was amplified because she sang it in a public place in front of dozens of unsuspecting fellow tourists, who burst into a well-deserved thunderous round of applause after she finished. We've seen countless takes on the national anthem, but few as captivating as this one.

Swain, who works as an assistant principal, told the Tallahassee Democrat she got caught up in the moment:

I was in that moment. I just closed my eyes and started singing. Marcus was videotaping the whole time. People just started saying ‘that was awesome, thank you.' One lady had tears in her eyes. I was kind of glad it was over. It was like a sigh of relief.”
