As crime rates fluctuate, racial tensions escalate, mortgage rates stabilize and gas prices decline, the average person considers the state of his own community. Our local leaders will soon answer some of our questions.

Wednesday, August 26, Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox, Northport Mayor Bobby Herndon and Probate Judge Hardy McCollum will speak at the State of the Community gathering at the Bryant Conference Center. During this event, which is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the speakers will give a comprehensive update on the state of the community.
