Lupita Nyong'o landed the July 2014 issue of Vogue -- and it's everything we hoped it would be!

On the cover shot, the Oscar-winning actress rocks a vibrant purple and red Prada dress with white trim. In her feature, Lupita opens up about receiving an Academy Award, maintaining her privacy and her unbelievable year.

Undoubtedly, one of the biggest highlights of her past twelve months was winning the Oscar. While Lupita's acceptance speech was emotional and profound, her reaction was much more light-hearted.

“Don’t fall on those stairs," she tells Vogue. “It’s not cute if you follow Jennifer Lawrence —it’s not cute if you’re the second one!”

Earning the statue solidified Lupita as one of Hollywood's most sought-after actresses, but she remains firm about keeping her privacy. “The safest thing is when I’m indoors in my world,” she says of her Brooklyn apartment.

Things aren't slowing down for Lupita anytime soon. Vogue lists her projects, which include her recently inked contract with Lancome, her part in the upcoming 'Star Wars: Episode VII,' and her role as a co-producer in an adaptation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s novel, 'Americanah.'
