Man Charged In Mothers Death

A woman was shot to death in what police say appears to have stemmed from a family fight.According to al.com police responded to the Alpine Village Apartments on Lorna Road after receiving a hang-up 911 call.

They say that Devarta Dedre Thomas, 23, was charged with the murder of Tawanda Denise Thomas, 40. According to reports, She was killed while scolding her son about his lifestyle and choices and actions and actually went to her son's apartment to lecture him about 'doing right, She wanted him to get a job, stop using drugs and stop hanging out with some of the individuals he was hanging out with.
What it boils down to is a mother lost her life while trying to convince her son to live a better, more productive life.
Detectives said the two were arguing inside the apartment when the son got a shotgun from another room and shot his mother.
