Maxwell delivers a thought-provoking video for latest single, “Lake by the Ocean.” The ballad is from the R&B singer’s upcoming album, blackSUMMERS’night.

The Philip Andelman-directed visual presents a global message for the need of having clean water worldwide, including impoverished countries as well. The video opens with a beautiful woman helping her village get the clean water that they need.

After a long day, she then travels to a local club see Maxwell perform. We watch as the debonair crooner’s passionate vocals take over the young woman’s mind, body and soul.

"[The video] depicts a world in need of water and two clandestine lovers who meet with liquid dreams, one being the bare-boned need for clean water, and another, the performer, who wants to be lost in the watery worlds of love and devotion," said Maxwell of the cinematic visual (via Rap-Up).

Ladies, if you want to get washed away in Maxwell's music, you can cop his new album, blackSUMMERS’night, on July 1. The singer recently unveiled the LP's cover art and track listing.

Maxwell is also set to perform at the 2016 BET Awards on June 26 and could possibly participate in a special tribute to Prince. So stay tuned.
