Over the past few years (especially following the April 2011 storms,) we've all given our input into needs of the city or developments we'd like to see. Apparently, somebody is listening as more restaurants are said to be coming to the Skyland Blvd./AL Hwy 69 S area this year.

According to a source with ties to the area, the former Costas Barbecue building is being renovated to house a Captain D's. Other businesses said to be opening in the same area this year include a Steak 'n Shake, Whataburger, and Starbucks Coffee.

With a massive amount of funding being poured into the zones directly affected by the tornado, it's nice to see improvements made to other areas of the city.
