More Major Retailers Setting Up Shop In Tuscaloosa
It was just announced that Harley-Davidson will be opening their newest store off of I20/59, across from Tuscaloosa Chevrolet and now more news of new Tuscaloosa businesses!
The ‘Shoppes at Legacy Park’ is planed for the vacant lot behind Krispy Kreme which was the Cedar Crest neighborhood prior to the 2011 tornadoes. Bed Bath & Beyond and Cost Plus World Market were the first to have been confirmed as tenants and now PetSmart, Dick’s Sporting Goods, DSW Shoes, and The Fresh Market also have agreed to bring their business to T-Town.
Once completed, the ‘Shoppes at Legacy Park’ is projected to bring around 500 new jobs to Tuscaloosa.
I’m personally most excited to have World Market and Fresh Market here in town. I unfortunately drive to Hoover now to visit World Market and pick up spices, craft beer as well as foods and crafts from around the world. I’ve also been a frequent patron of the Fresh Market on Hwy. 280, a 47 mile ride from Tuscaloosa.
Traffic issues at McFarland Blvd and 15th Street would be my only issue.
Construction is to begin in August and is expected to open in 2015.
