Nicki Minaj is stepping from behind the mic to behind the camera for her latest project.
According to msn.com, ABC Family has picked up the comedy produced by the singer and rapper to become a series.
The half-hour, single-camera comedy is based on Minaj's family's immigration from Trinidad in the early '90s.

The untitled series will center on her childhood in Queens, N.Y., with her vibrant family and will reveal how her evolution led to her eventual rise to international fame.

This is one of the more unique adventures I've ever embarked on,” said Minaj in a statement. “I couldn't be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special.
