A four vehicle wreck took place early Sunday morning that left one man dead. According to TPD Spokeswoman Lt. Teena Richardson the wreck occurred shortly after Tuscaloosa Police received a report of someone breaking into a vehicle.

Police reports also state that the victim of the break in followed a Mercury Grand Marquis that fled the scene of the break in.  Tuscaloosa Police also believe one of the cars involved in the crash could have leaving the scene of the reported  vehicle break in.

The crash took place at the intersection of Helen Keller Boulevard and University Boulevard East when the Mercury Grand Marquis ran a red light and struck a black Toyota Camry turning left at the intersection, Leaving one of the occupants of the Mercury Grand Marquis dead.
