The question asked most is probably,'Where's a good place to eat?' Well that question has been answered if you live in this great state of Alabama. Oprah Winfrey's magazine "O" recently featured a piece called "The Best Thing to Eat in Every State". In the article two Alabama eateries were mentioned, and both can be found in Tuscaloosa. The City Cafe' in Northport and Wintzell's Oyster House on the river. According to 'O' Magazine,

With its wood-paneled walls and daily specials, City Cafe in Northport offers soothing Southern-style mains, like chicken-fried steak and fried chicken livers, partnered with three or four comfort sides, including fried green tomatoes and stewed squash...

Here's what they said about Wintzell's,

On most menus here, you'll find tangy West Indies salad--a cold seafood affair starring lump crabmeat, chopped yellow onion and a liberal dose of vinegar. Mobile's 75-plus-year-old Wintzell's Oyster House marinates theirs for a thorough 24 hours, resulting in a sweet-sour dish as refreshing as an afternoon on a porch swing.

This is a win-win for Alabama, and especially Tuscaloosa, even though the Wintzell's that was talked about was in Mobile, the one here is just as good. Take time out of your busy schedule and try a bite from one or both of these fine establishments. And as always, if it's good enough for Oprah, it sure is good enough for you.
