50 Cent has got the Power.

His juggernaut Starz drama, which moved to Sunday nights for its third season, pulled in 2.26 million live plus same day viewers during the premiere. This breaks a new viewership record for the cable channel, which was previously held by Outlander’s season two premiere with 1.46 million viewers.

Overall, during its Sunday night premiere and repeated airplays, 3.4 million people watched the drama unfold between Ghost and the gang.

“We are thrilled Power continues to be a force in its third season with this record setting performance - something very few shows ever achieve," said Starz President and CEO Chris Albrecht in a press release (via Business Wire). "We are proud to say the show is must-watch TV and has helped to establish Starz as a Sunday destination for viewers.”

Power currently airs in over 175 countries/territories worldwide and, undoubtedly, the king of Sunday night television. Power season three is ten episodes deep and broadcasts exclusively on Starz at 9 p.m. EST.
