I know by now you have seen this story on the internet or even on your local news about a high school wrestling referee making student in New Jersey cut off his dreads during wrestling match?

If not, here's a quick re-cap... a video of Andrew Johnson, a student at Buena Regional high school getting a haircut right before his wrestling match

Andrew did what the rules said he was supposed to do as far as wearing a hair cover at the time. However, this referee, Alan Maloney, still had a problem with his hair. For some reason, as he continuously referred to Andrews hair as braids, he gave the wrestler an ultimatum! Either he cut off his dreadlocks or he forfeit the match!

By Friday, the video went viral, starting a crazy amount of backlash and allegations of racism.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing, I felt the humility for him! How cruel was that??  I was fuming from just watching the video, I can't imagine how his parents are feeling right now.

I'm glad to see Superintendent of the Buena Regional School District is working at getting to the bottom of the situation!  Superintendent David Cappuccio said "although the investigation in the matter is ongoing, the assigned referee will no longer be permitted to officiate any contests that include any Buena Regional School District student-athletes."

Here's the video of the incident, video compliments of ABC News
