It's not as common to get transfer news in college football during the summer break, but it appears Alabama will be losing one of its young safeties.

Rising sophomore Shawn Burgess-Becker has decided to transfer out of the program, according to 247Sports. The Florida native and former high school teammate to Alabama wide receiver Calvin Ridley has reportedly received his full release as well.

As a true freshman in 2015, Burgess-Becker primarily played special teams and appeared in 13 games. He finished the season with three total tackles.

There has been no statement from either Burgess-Becker or The University of Alabama.
