Rihanna was honored with her own street in her native island of Barbados on Thursday (Nov. 30). Barbados officials changed Westbury New Road to Rihanna Drive.

Along with the street, RiRi was also honored with a placard with a personal message for the people of Barbados. It reads:

Welcome to Rihanna Drive,” reads her note. “My home. My whole life was shaped on this very road. I was just a little island girl riding bikes, running around barefoot, and flying kits in the cemetery, but I had BIG dreams. Dreams that were born and realized right here.”

“Thank you to my family, my country, and the people of Westbury New Road,” she continued. “You will forever be a part of who I am, and for that, I am honored to have this place named after me.

Rihanna grew up near Westbury New Road and even named one of her companies Westbury Road Entertainment, so this is a major honor for the pop superstar.

Rihanna went on her Instagram account to thank her fans and the people of Barbados.

"A day my people and I will never forget!" she wrote in her lengthy message. "All the lessons, running around barefoot, nosey neighbors, braiding hair on the step, playing in the cemetery, walking to the beach...right here on this street! WESTBURY is more than a community, we're family!!! Thank you for all that you've poured into my life and the woman I am! It takes a village, and I'm glad my village was you!!!! To God be the Glory!!!!"

Congrats to Rihanna! Check out the photos above and below.
