Sad That The July 4th Weekend Ended With 8 Fatalities On The Road.

Sad to report all my reminders for a safe 4th of July weekend was met with 8 fatalities. Ranging from Car accidents to motorcycle accidents, the Alabama Highway patrol was pretty busy over the 3 day weekend. This weekend had the most driver on the road than anything this year, and crowded roads meant driver fatigue which leads to accidents.

Three of the deaths were related to those not wearing a seat belts. It's a common fact that even if you are just riding a half a mile to the store please wear a seat belt. Another fatality involved a group of motorcycle riders that was killed, all were wearing helmets.

The Final fatality involved alcohol  which is not surprising. There's always some sort of accident involving Alcohol in some way. These accidents don't include the list of accidents that had minor of severe injuries, or the one's that people generally walk away from.

I continue to make pleas to folks to pay attention to laws and don't speed and never drive impaired.
