The following is a list of closings for Tuscaloosa (and surrounding counties):

School Closings:
Tuscaloosa City Schools and the Central Office will dismiss early today Jan. 28. Our first priority is for the safety of students and personnel.
We will follow the schedule below for school dismissals:
  • High Schools dismiss at 12 noon. (This will also include all Magnet School and Alberta Elementary students)
  • Middle schools dismiss at 12:30 p.m.
  • Elementary schools dismiss at 1 p.m.
All after-school activities have been canceled including Central High School’s basketball game.  Additionally, Board of Education meeting for tonight will be rescheduled for a later date. The Central High School parent meeting has been also rescheduled for Thursday night at 6 p.m.
UA will cancel classes as of 11 a.m. for the remainder of today and tonight. All events and activities scheduled for tonight are also cancelled.  Non-essential personnel may leave at 11:30 a.m. A decision about classes and operations for Wednesday will be made later today, and will be communicated to the campus via email, the UA home page, local media, social media and text messages.

All Pickens County Schools will dismiss today, January 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.   We will have a 2 hour delay on Wednesday, January 29, 2014.

Greene County Schools will dismiss at 11:30. There will possibly be a 2-hour delayed opening tomorrow.
The University of West Alabama is closed.
Other area closings:
The Tuscaloosa Bypass is closed.
The Tuscaloosa Public Library will close today at 11am.
Mercedes Benz closing, next shift to report 2 hours late
