Cooler weather is on its way to Alabama, and severe storms are possible tonight ahead of the change.  The National Weather Service in Birmingham has placed much of West Alabama in a "slight" risk area for tonight's storms. The primary threats include brief tornadoes and damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour. Storms are currently forecast to impact our area between 8 p.m. and midnight.

Before the storms, today will be warm and muggy with a high near 80 degrees.
