Strong to severe storms are possible across the state this afternoon and into the evening hours, and storms could begin as early as 2 p.m. in West Alabama.In our listening area, the National Weather Service in Birmingham has placed Tuscaloosa, Bibb, Walker under an elevated risk; threats from these storms could include damaging winds up to 70 MPH, quarter size hail, and even a brief tornado.

Much of the rest of Alabama has been placed in a limited risk area; these places could see damaging winds up to 60 MPH, quarter size hail, and a brief tornado. Storms are forecast to impact West Alabama around 2 p.m. through 7 p.m.
