Six Students Die When A 4th Floor Balcony Collapses At A Birthday Party

A birthday party ends tragically with the death of 6 Irish students. It happened when an apartment balcony collapsed during a birthday party attended by Irish students killing six of the 13 people who fell from the fourth-floor.

The students who fell from the balcony were all Irish citizens and students with short-term work visas, gathered at the Library Gardens Apartments to celebrate someone’s 21^st birthday.

At least seven other students were taken to hospitals with serious injuries after the balcony collapsed at about 12:40 a.m.

It’s not clear what caused the balcony to collapse. It appeared to have torn away from the rest of the building.
