College football just wrapped its national signing day where the major high school recruits make their official commitments to a university. The event has grown into a big deal at the powerhouse schools in college football and it's only getting bigger.

While Michigan was busy doing some of the most ridiculous level of signing day exploits ever seen by bringing the likes of Migos and Ric Flair out to their event, USC got a special boost from their longtime fan Snoop Dogg.

Snoop Dogg presented a special episode of his Turf'd Up series with five-star recruit Jack Jones announcing his decision. After a brief interview with Snoop Dogg, Jones announced to the world that he would be attending the University of Southern California.

On paper, this whole thing might seem strange and unnecessary. But, Snoop Dogg actually has a strong connection to Jack Jones. Everyone knows that Snoop Dogg represents the LBC and Jones played at Long Beach Polytechnic High School. And on top of that, Jones played in the Snoop Youth Football League when he was younger. Snoop Dogg also points out that he's known Jones' family for a long time, so it all seems to fit.

Ultimately, it's a special moment where Snoop Dogg used his recognition to give a kid a unique chance to be in the spotlight. You can watch the full interview with Snoop Dogg and Jack Jones' announcement above via Twitter.
