Snoop Lion Joins MTV, Jewelry for A Cause to End Gun Violence

Snoop Lion knows it's more than simply saying, 'No Guns Allowed,' he's willing to put his money where his mouth is.

Having just recently released the video for his latest single featuring Drake and his daughter Cori B, Snoop has linked with MTV and the company, Jewelry For A Cause to debut MTV X Caliber bracelets.

The proceeds from the sale of the arm candy will go to the Newark Police Department's illegal gun buyback program -- which makes sense since the jewelry was made from the guns turned in to the NPD.

Each limited-edition unisex bracelet is constructed from recycled steel and the serial number is still exposed as a nod to the positives that can come from negative situations.

To build momentum for the cause, MTV will include one of the recycled steel bracelets in every celebrity gift bag on Sunday (April 14) for the network's Movie Awards ceremony.

For every celebrity in attendance, the network will donate a certain amount of funds to the Newark buyback program.

In a statement released Tuesday (April 9), Snoop said, "This is such an important message we’re sharing. It’s a movement we want generations to recognize, embrace, and get behind."

"We’ve seen a lot of senseless acts of violence involving guns recently," he continued, "Too many have lost their lives, too many families have been destroyed. Like my friends at MTV, I want to be a part of the change that will help bring peace.”
