Songs that Signify the Beginning of Summer

Although we have a few weeks until the official first day of summer, many equate Memorial Day with the changing of seasons. In the winter, we have songs that tell us it's Christmas. But what about summer?

Are there any songs that make you feel like summer has officially arrived? Vacation is just around the corner?

Here are mine.

1. Summertime

If the title of the song didn't say it all, the lyrics certainly do. Everything reminiscent of summer is described from the guys on the basketball courts to the girls dressing less, girls playing double-dutch to family reunions.
2. Milkshake

Okay, so the song isn't really about milkshakes. But there is no better time than summer to enjoy a REAL milkshake while playing in the yard.

3. Hot in Herre

It's getting hot enough to make you want to take off all your clothes. Okay, that's not really what the song is about.... Well, actually, it is. Just in a different context.  Never the less, being hot and wanting to take off all your clothes is something to which we can all relate in the summer.

4. Rump shaker

With this one, it's probably more so the video than the actual song. But who can hear the song without envisioning the video? And the video epitomizes summer fun.
5. Rock the Boat

All white. On a yacht in the middle of the water.  On the beach. Cropped tops and short shorts. SUMMER!
