Chrisette Michele is still receiving backlash for agreeing to perform at Donald Trump’s Inauguration on Friday (Jan. 20). The R&B singer did respond to her critics stating that she’s performing at the ceremony to represent a “bridge” for “peaceful and progressive conversation.”

However, one prominent director isn't happy about it. Filmmaker Spike Lee slammed Michele for accepting the invitation to perform and voiced his displeasure on his Instagram page on Thursday morning (Jan. 19). The director of “Do the Right Thing” said he was "Sad" that Michele was performing for Trump.

He then added, "I Wuz Thinkin' 'bout Using Chrisette's Song- BLACK GIRL MAGIC In My Netflix Series SHE'S GOTTA HAVE IT.... NOT ANYMORE. And Dat's Da Truth, Ruth."

Michelle joins other black performers soul icon Sam Moore and gospel singer Travis Greene who publicly announced they will be performing for Donald Trump.

What do you think? Did Spike Lee do the right thing or is he being petty? Tell us in the comments below.
