When the institution first decided to terminate its football program, many thought it meant the end of relevant sports at Stillman. However, those who attended the school before the 1999 return of football argued that basketball had always been the staple. Well, this year, the basketball team is definitely filling the void left by the absence of football!

According to Stillman Athletics, the Tigers hosted Miles College's Golden Bears Monday night and won the SIAC Western Division championship with a 95-73 win, which provided a first-round bye at the SIAC Championship Tournament, to be held in Birmingham's Bill Harris Arena. Stillman will take the court on Thursday, March 3rd, at 7:45 p.m.

The team is closing out its regular season with a four game road trip, which began last night. While the Lady Tigers fell to the Lady Rams 84-62, Stillman's men took home another win with a score of 85-60.

Their next game is Saturday, February 20. They will face Tuskegee's Golden Tigers, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
