Stormy weather is pushing into Tuscaloosa and West Alabama on Sunday, with a Wind Advisory issued for the area.

The good news, this approaching storm system has weakened dramatically.  Still, we're in store for a windy day with plenty of rain to follow.

Sunday 4 p.m. - Monday 4 a.m.

  • Wind Advisory: 15 to 20 mph winds with gusts to 35 mph

Sunday after 10 p.m.

  • Rain arrives

Monday after 5 a.m.

  • Rain leaves area

Monday...

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to 4 am
CST Monday.

* Timing... late this afternoon into the overnight hours.

* Winds... south winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

* Impacts... some trees or branches may fall with these wind gusts.
High profile vehicles will need to exercise extra caution
especially drive east or west. Loose items such as trash cans
and Holiday decorations will be vulnerable to the strong winds
and should be secured.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
