Subway Location Shut Down After Anti-Gay Valentine Special

A Subway franchise in the north-west of France was forced to close after a public outcry for offering a heterosexual couples only Valentine's Day special. The sandwich outlet located in, coincidentally, Angers, posted their promotion, which indicated in brackets that only couples who were male-female were eligible for the deal. The deal included a footlong Subway sandwich, drink, and dessert.When news spread, those offended took to social media to express their anger. Photos of said poster were shared and the restaurant shut down on Friday, February 15. Unfortunately, another local Subway franchise became the target of protests on Facebook and had to shut down their page and release their own statement reflecting they were not affiliated with the other Angers, France Subway restaurant and did not share their views.
