Breweries from all over the south will present their finest beverages to Tuscaloosa’s growing craft beer scene this Saturday!

'Suds of the South V' will be held Saturday at Wilhagan's downtown. Tickets are available now for $30, which grants you access to samples from all the breweries from 4p to 7p. For $50, VIP tickets include access an hour early (at 3p) and a complimentary t-shirt.

Bob Baker who handles marketing for Tuscaloosa based Druid City Brewing Company and one of the organizers of the event says, "This year there will be a total of 23 breweries, coming from all over the southeast. We’ll also be highlighting this year’s “sympathizers”, which will be Southern Tier and New Belgium. Participants can also look forward to trying limited edition batches from several different breweries the day of the event."

When asked what they're trying to accomplish each year with SOTS Bob explains, "We try to introduce more beer novices to the burgeoning world of craft beer. Suds of the South participants can always expect a generous selection of choice brews from around the southeast, as well across the country!"

I then asked him how the craft beer landscape changed in Alabama in recent years? "We’ve reached Suds of the South V, and the event organizers have noticed quite a change in how people in Tuscaloosa choose their drinks," he continued, "People are beginning to appreciate  what their beer tastes like, where it’s from, and who manufactured it. A series of informed decisions (and a few pints!) have really encouraged Tuscaloosans to step out and try something new."
