Former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight has filed a lawsuit against R&B star Chris Brown, singer Pia Mia and the owners of a Los Angeles nightclub where Knight was shot seven times at a party back in 2014.

According to AP, the lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, accuses Brown and the nightclub 1 Oak, in West Hollywood, of failing to provide adequate security and allowing at least one armed person into the venue during an event. In court appearances for his ongoing unrelated murder charge, Knight was hit in the chest, forearm and abdomen and says that he's had complications from those injuries including a blood clot.

His attorneys say that it was Knight's fear following that shooting that led to him running down two men after he was attacked on the set of Straight Outta Compton in early 2015; killing one of the men. Knight is in jail awaiting trial.

The lawsuit against Brown doesn't disclose the damages Knight is seeking, but it does demand that the defendants pay all medical expenses related to his injuries. Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, has not addressed the lawsuit publicly nor have the owners of 1 Oak. The lawsuit blames the venue for not being more cautious due to Chris Brown having a "well-documented track record of hosting events and/or parties in which violence frequently erupted."

"As a result of the negligence of the defendants, one or more unknown individuals were allowed access to the event with weapons, including firearms," the lawsuit says. "As a foreseeable result, gunshots were fired by those admitted into the event and (Knight) was shot and seriously injured."

Pia Mia co-hosted the party and is also named as a defendant. Knight previously sued Kanye West after Knight was shot and wounded at a 2005 party hosted by West in Miami Beach. The judge ruled in West's favor.
