A suspected drug dealer has been charged with attempted murder after he tried to run over a West Alabama Narcotics Task Force officer. According to al.com,narcotics task force agents tried to stop the suspect, who had parole violations in Mississippi and was believed to be carrying a large amount of cocaine.

When agents began to approach the suspects vehicle, he accelerated and was heading directly toward one of the agents.

The agent tried to retreat, but was forced to fire his weapon. Agents pulled the suspect from the vehicle and took him into custody.

An undisclosed amount of cocaine and prescription drugs were recovered from suspects vehicle.

He is charged with attempted murder, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of prescription drugs, and attempting to elude.
