Football is football. And football is back.

The SEC mixed up everyone's schedules this fall once the conference decided to opt for a conference only football schedule. Today the conference announced the new order and dates for the 2020 schedule. Earlier in the day it was announced the Tide would open the season on the road against one of newly added opponent, Missouri. The rest of the schedule is as follows.

The 2020 college football season is hanging in the balance amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Big 10 has already cancelled its fall season and the Pac-12 is expected to be following suit with the same decision later today. College players, coaches and even politicians have spoken out about the need for a football season this fall.

In a conversation with Chris Low of ESPN, Nick Saban made the case to have a 2020 football season. Saban said that the players would be safer on campus, he said his players wouldn't contract the virus on the football field and that he wants the season to happen so his players can create value for themselves.

The college football season is currently hanging by a thread after the Mid-American Conference became the first FBS level conference to cancel its fall football season. The Big 10 has reportedly already voted to cancel its season as well, although those reports have been disputed. Several marquee names in college football have taken to Twitter to voice their desire to endure the COVID-19 protocols and have a 2020 football season.

According to Dan Patrick and the Detroit Free Press, the Big 10 has voted to cancel its 2020 football season. The conference voted 12-2 to cancel this season, the only dissenting universities who voted to play were Iowa and Nebraska.

Javion Cohen signed his letter of intent to join the Alabama Crimson Tide today. December 18 is the first day high school seniors can officially sign with their new college programs. Cohen is a four start offensive tackle out of Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama.

Alabama will be without two key defensive players for the upcoming Citrus Bowl in Orlando Florida. Cornerback Trevon Diggs and outside linebacker Terrell Lewis will choose to sit out of the bowl game to prepare for April’s NFL Draft.

Tua Tagovailoa has announced he will be holding a press conference Thursday December 5 at 2:30. There is speculation that Tagovailoa will make an announcement regarding his plans for the 2020 season.
