The City of Northport welcomed hundreds today to their very first food truck event, aptly titled 'Trucks by the Tracks!'

Northport City Councilman Jay Logan told WDAM,

Our intentions are not to sabotage any brick and mortar businesses. On the contrary, we want to try to bring some foot traffic during some down times in a business year. And this is one of our down times in downtown Northport. Of course, schools are out, University (of Alabama) is out.

Hungry supporters converged on a grassy area, near the train trestles, on Main Street in downtown Northport. Everyone was treated to food selections ranging from Mexican to Southern Cuisine, BBQ to frozen treats and organic teas.

Here's a photo recap of the day.
